Gekko is continuing its growth plans with the recruitment of Tom Stevenson as Business Development Manager for the Manchester-based IT consultancy. Tom will assist Gekko’s Head of Business Chris Fargher and the team to raise the profile of Gekko’s service offering across the Greater Manchester and North West SME sector.

Speaking about his appointment, Tom said: “I joined Gekko for a variety of reasons. I was looking for a sales role where I could learn more than just ‘how to sell’. Also the Gekko team and values really resonated with me and I could see how I could grow personally and professionally with the business.”

He added: “After meeting with Kristian & Chris, I felt they were really passionate people who would not only be supportive but teach me a great deal. The ethos of Gekko is to make complex simple and it’s a great environment to work in.”

“Tom really stood out from the other candidates. He’s got off to a great start by completing his exam and is making a daily impact on the business.”

Tom has joined Gekko on a Graduate Development Scheme – Despite only being with Gekko for a number of weeks, Tom has already passed a Cisco exam to become certified Data Centre Account Manager. Tom was previously an assistant programme leader for The Challenge a national youth development programme.

Chris Fargher, said: “Tom really stood out from the other candidates. He demonstrated a real interest and understanding of the Gekko business values and we all felt he’d add real value to the business and team. He’s got off to a great start by completing his exam and is making a daily impact on the business.”
